Beach Lifeguard Award
The Beach Lifeguard Award is Irish Water Safety certified and is the recognised qualification needed to work as a Beach lifeguard and Surfing instructor in Ireland, It is internationally recognised .
Candidates must be over 16 years of age and have a good level of swim fitness to join the course (swim 400m – 8min)

Beach Lifeguard Re-validation Course:
Date: Sunday 29th March Location: Ardmore Time: 9.30 am
The re-validation course takes place over 1 day and includes the examination. Candidates will be examined in the open water elements of the Beach Lifeguard Course and also in Basic Life Support & AED.
Candidates must hold a current Beach Lifeguard award that is due for renewal

Course Trainer:
Ronan O’ Connor our chief instructor teaches all levels of the Irish Water Safety syllabus. Ronan is one of the most experienced instructors in the country and has been teaching and coaching all aspects of lifesaving since 1996.
He has competed in Lifesaving at both national and international level. Ronan coached the Cork senior and junior lifesaving teams for 6 years and has coached and guided competitors to become national champions and members of the national squad. Ronan was also a beach lifeguard for 7 years and senior lifeguard on Garrettstown, one of Corks busiest beaches
