Level 2 Kayak Skills Award ( Learn to Kayak)

The Level 2 Kayak Skills Award aims to enable participants to, Kayak safely and competently on flat water (Sea) and Grade I rivers as a member of a group being led and to assist in basic rescues. The level 2 Kayak proficiency is the starting point for all kayak proficiency for both river kayaking & Sea kayaking. All equipment is supplied on the course and no previous experience is necessary.

Evening Course: Tues or Thursday (4 evenings) 6.30- 9pm – Ardmore

Tuesday Courses:                                

April: 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th  (Full)   May: 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th (Spaces)

Thursday Courses:

April: 5th, 12th, 19th , 26th (Full)    May: 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st (Spaces)

Level 3 White Water Skills Training (Intermediate Kayak Skills)

The Level 3 white water Kayaking Skills aims to enable participants

  • Kayak safely and competently on rivers up to and including Grade II rivers as a member of a group of peers
  • Be capable of negotiating obstacles (weirs, rapids) likely to be encountered on Grade II rivers.
  • Assist in rescues.

Next Course: March 28th & 29th –  (Slalom Course in Clonmel)

Eskimo Roll Classes

If you want to take your kayaking to the next level in both skill and safety, this is the course for you. You will learn various rolling techniques to get you back up-right and paddling. The course takes place in a warm heated swimming pool so can learn and practise at your ease and not worry about the cold outside.
