Here at Ardmore Ardmore adventures HQ there’s nothing quite like striking off into what appears to be an unlimited horizon in a kayak. Seeing the all the sights the sea has to offer, observing the stunning coastal areas you’ll pass along the way and not forgetting there’s a chance you’ll end up swimming with sharks or dolphins! We want you to experience this and enjoy it as much as we do!  Here’s 6 reasons why you should come out paddling with us.

1.Abdominal workout!

Kayaking on the water involves a lot of paddling.  This requires core strength movement. Paddling on both sides means twisting which uses muscles you sually wouldn’t. The result being a flatter and toned stomach. Washboard abs, anyone?

2. Work it out.

Kayaking is a great upper body workout, as the resistance of the water provides an effective strength workout for your back, arms, shoulders and other areas. Basically, it helps sculpt you into a greek god.. Maybe.

3. All about those legs.

Hmm, we did just say it requires a lot of upper body strength but your legs are just as important, you know. Controlling and maneuvering the kayak is dependent on your core and legs, and your rotating core needs help from those stronger leg muscles – leg day just got more exciting!

4. Kayaking allows you to explore new places!

Using a kayak as a means of transportation is great. You can reach sections of coastlines that are inaccessible by land. You’ll have a completely different experience of Ardmore! You can explore the shipwreck, paddle through arches and make your way into sea caves. Have you experienced the copper mines that have been in Ardmore since the 1600s? Thought not, that’s where kayaking comes in. The possibilities are as wide as the horizon in a kayak!

5. It’s fuelled by Adventure.

Whether you’re kayaking off of a 15 foot waterfall, exploring sea caves, or trailing wildlife on the edge of a coastline, there is the potential for unlimited adventure in all kayaking scenarios. And adventure is our middle last name, after all.

6. Kayaking is suitable for all ages!

Whether a person is just a few years old or on the other end of the scale, they can enjoy kayaking. Kayaking reaches across these generational lines and simply does not discriminate – it’s all inclusive! We cater for 8 year olds onwards with our Young Explorer camps, family sea kayaking or half day sea kayaking trip – there’s something for everyone!
